       The Choice Is Clear...

Preferring our rights instead of relying on Christ and the choices He is making for us is the chief hindrance to our spiritual vitality. Whenever clamoring for our rights becomes the guiding factor of our lives, it dulls our spiritual insight. Often our self-interest is the compelling motivator to all that we do and become.

While on earth, Jesus chose twelve men to follow Him. His objective was to teach them that trusting God is not the means to a greater work...but that trust is the greater work. Jesus knew that they (and us) would never really trust Him until they first learned the danger of trusting themselves.   He led them down a long road that discouraged them from relying on their own strength or pursuing their own dreams. He led them down a road that would only frustrate their own wisdom. He led them down a road that would ultimately bring them to an end of themselves.

Are you prepared to purposely disregard the inclinations of your heart and abide in the faithfulness of Christ alone? Your choice must be a deliberate determination...it is not something into which you will automatically drift.   One need look no further than to the old rugged cross. It is there alone that we discover that Jesus Christ really is enough.

Sincerely, Rev. Dr. David Lee DDPM. TTHM.
